Lois Marvene Evans, 78, Lancaster, passed away Friday, July 5, 2002, at her residence. She was born March 8, 1924, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Doris Mildred Oatney Upp. She was a charter member of Fairfield Community Church, the Porter-Griffith Guild and Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard C. Evans; son, Jeff Evans of Athens, Ga.; daughter, Jennifer Evans (Dick) Evans Kinsley of Granville; five grandchildren, Shawn Evans, Heather Evans McCreery, Benjamin Hannah and Evan Kinsley; two great-grandchildren, Hollie Grace and Samuel McCreery; two brothers, Frank (Judy) Upp of Lancaster and Rodger (Janet) Upp of Pickerington; several nieces and nephews; and cousin, Miriam Lineberger. She was preceded in death by her sons, Rick and Thom.
Caring cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. July 21 at Fairfield Community Church with Pastors John Morrison and Bill Brown officiating.
