Betty Ball
APRIL 17, 1920 – JULY 23, 2022

Betty (McPherson) Ball was born April 17, 1920 in Detroit, MI. She is survived by her daughter, Carol A McKay of Sun Lakes, AZ. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Randall Bos of Clarksville IN and Philip Bos of Mesa and 6 great grandchildren; by her nephew, Gene (Judy) Ball of Surprise, AZ. She was preceded in death by her brother, George, who died at the age of 5. Her husband of 48 years, Eldredge Ball passed away in May, 2007.

Her mother, Irene, became very ill when Betty was 2 and asked her husband to promise to allow her parents to raise the 2 children which he did. Soon after, the grandmother died, her brother George, was place in the Baptist Children's Home in St. Joseph, MI. Betty was adopted by Robert and Louise Kissau. The were members of Clay Street Baptist Church where Betty accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 13.

Her parents recognized her musical ability and started her with piano lessons at the age of 5. At 18, she was offered a scholarship to the Chicago Conservatory of Music to become a concert pianist which she turned down. Instead she graduated from business school and also attended Northwestern University outside of Chicago. She began her career in banking and became a trust officer both in Michigan and Arizona.

In her spare time, she used her piano for glory of God.l She played in churches as an accompanist, choir director and worship leader. She also provided the music at Christian Women's Luncheons in Sun City for 5 years. Betty and her husband were charter members of Bellevue Baptist Church in Sun City in 1973.

Betty moved to Sun Lakes soon after her husband passed away to be closer to her family. She joined First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes and became an active member. She was also active in the Springfield Women's Bible Class. In the last 5 years, Betty wrote her life history for her family and authored several books. In the past year, she was busy writing words and music for gospel songs.

She has now joined her husband, Eldredge, family members and friends who have passed. But, most of all, she is the presence of her Saviour, whom she loved and served. Thus, the beginning of a new life forever.
