Arnold Bustillo, born on June 11, 1931, in Tela, Honduras, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Ana Maria Reyes Bustillo for the past 60 years.

Son of the late Emma Zelaya.

Cherished father of Javier Bustillo (Nancy), Emma Mauer (Larry), Rafael "Tony" Bustillo (Paula), and Marie Claveria (Danilo).

Abuelito of Arnaldo (Renee), Mauricio (Erica), and Melinda Bustillo, Victoria Mauer, Natasha and Gabriella Bustillo, Alejandra Wrzesinski (Joel), Daniela, and Natalia Claveria.

Visabuelo of Marcello Bustillo, Maris Bustillo and Olivia Wrzesinski.

Preceded in death by his brother, Ricardo Zelaya and sisters Filomena Ortiz, and Elsa Bush.

Survived by siblings: Elena Miller (Robert), Enrique Zelaya (Ivonne), Roberto Bustillo (Emma), Mario Zelaya (Reyna) and Marta Escudero (Jorge).

He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and especially Linda Meadows, Angela Latterner (Scott) and their sons.

Mr. Bustillo was a resident of New Orleans and River Ridge, LA for 52 years.

He retired from the Seafarer's Union and also worked for many years as a carpenter.

His greatest gift was the example he set as a husband and father, especially the passion which he possessed in keeping his family united.

A Special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and LifePath Hospice in Tampa, FL, for their loving and compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
