She was born on April 20, 1954 in Aurora, IL to the late John and Anna Maria (Seifert) Faupl. She was the second of five children. Monica attended St. Nicholas Elementary School and East Aurora High School, both in Aurora, IL. Following her high school graduation in 1972, she started a job at Label Printers. On May 29, 1976, she married Michael S. Minalga and he survives. Monica worked for many years in the Accounting Department at Dot Packaging and Hyperedge before retiring in 2005 to become a full-time grandma.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of Annunciation Parish in Aurora, IL for over 30 years until moving to Indiana to be near her daughter's family. Once in Lafayette, IN, she became a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Monica was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and strived to be as good as a mother as Mary, Mother of God. She lived for her family and devoted every minute to making them happy. Monica loved to sew and bake for her grandchildren. She loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Monica is survived by two children; seven grandchildren; four siblings; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Betty Faupl.
Visitation followed by a Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St., Lafayette, IN 47904. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
