Cecil Leonard Watkins was born in Oneta, OK on August 14, 1930 to Elmer and Arnie (Herd) Watkins. He passed away on August 18, 2022.

Cecil was raised in Lost City, He Moved To Blackwell, OK during the mid-1950's and later moved to Mannford, OK then Tulsa, OK. He served in the United States Army at Fort Sill Between 1949-1951 and worked at Flint Steel Corporation. He loved music, At Age 14 He Purchased a Fiddle from Mongomery Ward Catalog for $20.00. When His Older Brother Lester Return From Texas Back Home, He Brought Back a Gene Autry Acoustic Guitar. When Lester was out roaming the Hills of Lost City, Cecil and His Other Brother Doyle Would Practice The Guitar. While Living in Blackwell Cecil and Doyle Recorded a Record 45 at Donley Music in Blackwell. Cecil Played The Honky Tonks and even Played at a Benefit at the Old Braman School. However He Found His Calling Playing Gospel Music.
He Married Louella Hayes, To This Union Carolyn, Randy, Mellissa. The Couple Later Divorced, He Married Shirley Burgess in 1963

He was preceded in death by his parents, both daughter's and his son. brothers Lester, Doyle, Donald, Odie and a sister Clarice Faye Campbell. Nieces-Louise (Watkins) Catt, Trudy (Watkins) McClarnon

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Crossroads Full Gospel, 1310 W. 49th Street, Tulsa, OK with Pastor Erick Goodman officiating.


Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, OK. Services are under the direction of Dillon Funeral Service.
