Funeral services were held Monday for Harry Long, 35 years old, who ended his life Sunday by drinking carbolic acid. "Harry" as he was always called by the many who knew him, and who mourn his passing, had been despondent over poor health and it was the brooding over this matter that led him to take the final step, it is believed.

The services were conducted Monday at 2 pm at the Methodist church, the Rev. J. A. Longston officiating. He was assisted by Rev. H. J. Wood. The Odd Fellow and Rebekah orders were present in a body.

Harrison Alpha Long was born in Charleton, Nebraska, Jan. 29, 1892, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Long, now both deceased. He came with his parents to Chelan in June, 1902. He was soon affiliated with the Methodist church. He was married to Ethel Eva Wood of Seattle, Dec. 23, 1916.

To this union three sons were born, one having died in infancy. The children living are Jeane Long (Winton Jean), age six and Henry Alpha Long, age five.

Mr. Long was a member of the Chelan Valley Lodge No. 169 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, into which he was initiated in March, 1916.
