Mrs. Mary (Flaig) Long, born at Aichuldem, Wortenburg, Germany., August 10th, 1850. Came to America with her parents and settled at Alma, Wisconsin. Was married to Bernhard Tritsch December 6th, 1867 at Wabasha, Minn. From this union four children were born, namely Amelia T,. Elizabeth, William F., and Anna M. Tritsch, (William F. now deceased.) In 1872 she moved with her family to Sutton, Nebraska, and in 1877, then a widow, she moved to Carleton, Nebraska. On June 7th, 1878, she married W. J. Long, and in 1898 the moved to Hebron, Nebraska, remaining there four years. In 1902 she came to Chelan, Washington, remaining here to the time of her death at 8:15 am on July 6th, 1916. She was 65 years, 10 months and 26 days of age.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, W. J. Long, who is well known in this community, and her daughters, Mrs. Amelia T. Green, Chelan, Wa., Mrs. Elizabeth Estabrooks, Carlton, Ne., Mrs. Ann M. McCrary, Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Rose L. Mundt, Chelan, Wa., Mrs. Hattie Bragg, Chelan, Wa., Mrs. Olive P. Smith, Modesto, Ca., Miss Irene Long, Chelan, Wa., her son, Harrison A. Long, Chelan, Wa., and her stepdaughters Mrs. L. C. Spader, Chelan, Wa., Mrs. Myrtle M. Bonds, Three Forks, Wa. all of whom with the exception of Mrs. Estabrooks, were present at the funeral services and two sisters living in Wisconsin.

She was a true believer in Christianity and was a member of the Christian church for a number of years before coming to Washington. She was always a kind and affectionate wife, a loving and patient mother and was loved and esteemed by al who knew her.

The funeral services were conducted at the residence at two o'clock Sunday, by Rev. J. E. Strevey, assisted by the Women's Relief Corps of Chelan.
