Robert Morris Boler, age 83, of Coker, AL went home to be with his Lord on September 9, 2022.
The family will receive guests to celebrate his life from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Brother Tim Fields will be officiating.

Robert Morris Boler was preceded in death by his father, Rodrick Slade Boler, his mother, Mary Ruby Shirley Boler, his sisters Infant Judy Arlene Boler, Shirley Boler Stephens, Doris Boler Stokes, His brothers, Willie Thomas Boler, Sr., Rodrick Clark Boler, Sr., and Gordon Slade "Sonny" Boler.

Robert Morris was born in Thomaston, AL on July 3, 1939. He grew up in Pickens County and his family later moved to Northport, AL. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1957. After graduation he worked at the Central Iron Foundry in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Robert Morris proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1962-1966 during the Vietnam Era on the USS Yorktown. He often said, "It was an honor to serve, and I would gladly serve again." He was stationed in Long Beach, California and toured the world during his military service. While in San Francisco, California he met his dedicated wife of 54 years, his "lady" as he lovingly called her.

After discharge from the U.S. Navy, he obtained a job with Pacific Telephone in San Francisco, California which began his 32-year career with the telephone company. Robert Morris married Sharron in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1967. They took their honeymoon to Alabama to meet the Boler family. Robert Morris transferred to South Central Bell Tuscaloosa office, in 1969. He and Sharron lived in Tuscaloosa and later moved to Coker where they enjoyed country living in the Bethany Community.

Robert Morris was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, served as a Trustee, and enjoyed helping with the grounds over the years. He is a Christian, was saved as a child, and later followed the Lord in Believer's Baptism. He was an avid gardener who loved sharing his knowledge of plants with others. He raised many different fruits, vegetables, flowers, and trees using organic gardening and was a labor-of-love. Sharing his harvest with others included donating hundreds of pounds of butternut squash, potatoes, and other vegetables with the Alabama Children's Home.

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." KJV.
