Abigail L. "Abbie" Johnson, 82, of Coatesville, formerly of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Freedom Village. She was the wife of the late Stephen G. Johnson, who passed away in 1972. Born in Arnold, PA on September 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Isabel (Schrack) Lorant. Abbie graduated from Arnold High School with the class of 1958. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Penn State University. She worked as a Speech Pathologist for the Chester County Intermediate Unit from 1965 to 1995. Abbie was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Downingtown, and a lifetime member of the Penn State University Alumni Association. She also served six years as president of the Naples, Florida, Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. Music was an important part of her life, and she played clarinet in the New Horizon Band in Naples, Florida, where she spent her time six months of the year. She was a big Penn State football fan, enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and loved to travel. Her travel experiences included Japan, China, Egypt, and Antarctica. Surviving are her children Dr. Jennifer Johnson wife of Juan Pastor, of Gambier, OH, Linda L. Johnson, wife of Liz Cosline, of Glenside, PA; grandchildren Jonathan Pastor and Daniel Pastor; and longtime companion and best friend, Nancy J. Hadfield. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 AM at Central Presbyterian Church, 100 W Uwchlan Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. A time of visitation will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Abbie's memory to the Nancy J. Hadfield and Abigail L.
