Mrs. Nancy Kleinhesselink, age 76, of Orange City, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at her residence.
A visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, September 19, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 20, at 10:00am, at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with the Revs. Michael and Elizabeth Hardeman officiating. Interment will follow the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Nancy Ann was born on March 6, 1946, in Paullina, the daughter of Ray and Ella (Mesner) Appeldorn. She was raised on a farm near Paullina and attended the Paullina Public School.
On March 1, 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert LeRoy Kleinhesselink in Germantown. They made their home in Orange City, where in earlier years Nancy worked as a nurse's aide and provided in-home daycare for several local families. She later worked as a housekeeper at the Heritage House Nursing Home and did custodial work at the MOC-Floyd Valley Elementary School, both in Orange City. "Bob" passed away at their home on December 4, 2019, after more than 55 years of marriage.
She liked spending time in her kitchen, regularly preparing meals for her boys. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and secondhand stores in search of fun trinkets, and listening to stories and seeing photos of her families travels.
Survivors include her three sons, Jim Kleinhesselink, and Jeff Kleinhesselink, and his wife, Tracy, all of Alton; and Jason Kleinhesselink, of Orange City, and his friend, Matt Cihak, of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Bradley Kleinhesselink, and his wife, Chandler, of Ireton; and Kendra Kleinhesselink, and her friend, Tanner Zittlau, of Emporia, Kansas; a brother and his wife, Raynard and Lana Appeldorn, of Paullina; a sister and her husband, Annette and Kenny Sauer, of Paullina; and a brother-in-law, Walt Kleinhesselink, of Le Mars.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Appeldorn.
