Funeral services for Worth Hawley, 96, were held at the Jones and Casey Funeral Home 10 March 2000 with Pastor Mickey Tewalt of the Lighthouse officiating. Worth passed away 6 March 2000 at the Dicovery Care Center. He was born 17 September 1903 in Howe, a son of Merton and Jane Kay Hawley. Worth attended school in Howe, Goldburg and Salmon. He had four older brothers, Dave, Wallace, Bob and William. He liked to follow mining in his younger years. He mined in Arizona, Colorado, Northern Idaho and about every mine in Lemhi County. The family had their own mine out of Leadore in Jake's Canyon. Worth kept the family mine going until he was too old to take care of it. He also enjoyed working on ranches in Leadore and like to work as an irrigator. Worth settled in Leadore after retiring. He had many friends he enjoyed visiting with and telling his jokes to. He is survived by Earl Hawley,and Rosie Hawley, both of Castle Rock, Oregon, and Jim Hawley of Salmon. Burial took place in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of the Jones and Casey Funeral Home.
