Saint John Daily Telegraph, Sat 27 Aug 1870: "We regret to chronicle today the death of Mrs. Charles BAYARD of Welsford (Queens Co.) which took place about noon, Thursday. She had received a letter from her sister, Mrs. HOFFMAN and was in the act of reading it to her mother-in-law, Mrs. BAYARD, Sr. Mr. BAYARD her husband was summoned, but found that life was extinct.
