Professional Football Player. He was a defensive tackle that was drafted in the 1964 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals and the 1964 AFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He chose to start his professional career with the Cardinals. For 6 seasons as a defensive tackle, he played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1964), the Pittsburgh Steelers (1965–1968) and the Chicago Bears (1969). In his 6 years in professional football he played in 73 games, starting in 43 of them, recovered 4 fumbles and made 1 touchdown. He was a graduate of Taft High School in Chicago, he then earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisville, where he played football. He was All American at University of Louisville and was named the first Playboy Magazine All American, the first Look Magazine All American, first Dell Sports All American and the first Street and Smith All American. In 1979, he was inducted into the University of Louisville Hall of Fame. After his professional football ended, he pursued a career in real estate in Louisville and in Illinois and returned to Louisville in 1987 to co-own and operate the Check Cashing Corp. He passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.
