GEORGE E. WHEELER JR.

George E. Wheeler Jr., age 84, formerly of 2514 S. 8th Street, Manitowoc, and a current resident of Walnut Grove in Manitowoc, died on Tuesday morning, April 13, 2010, at Walnut Grove.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1926, in Powers, Michigan, son of the late George and Margaret (Dugre) Wheeler Sr. George was a Disabled American Veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
On Nov. 27, 1948, he married the former Amelia Pozorski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 2005.
George was a truck driver for Newell in Manitowoc, retiring in 1988. After his retirement, he then worked for Manitowoc Tool & Machine.
Survivors include his children: Allen and Nancy Wheeler, Angie and Mickey Lillibridge, Art Wheeler, all of Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: Aaron (Lauri) Lillibridge, Joe (Jessie) Lillibridge, Michelle Lillibridge, Andy (Karen) Wheeler, all of Manitowoc, Sarah Wheeler and Emmy Wheeler, both of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sean (Angie) Littlefield, Manitowoc, Kristin (Ben) Fischer, Chandler, Ariz., and Rebecca and Stephanie Wheeler, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren: Alexis Singletary, Sophie Lillibridge, Jonathan Lillibridge; a sister: Alice Becker, Manitowoc; and one brother and two sisters-in-law: Francis and Jean Wheeler, Manitowoc, and Rose Wheeler, Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Robert and Stewart Wheeler; and a sister and two brothers-in-law: Margaret and Daniel Mangin and Allen Becker.
A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Entombment of the cremated remains will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, until 5:45 p.m. Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post No. 659.

hurch, Two Rivers, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m.
