Died, May 26, at St. John's hospital in this city, Charles Bierstadt, aged 47 years. The funeral will occur today from St. John's hospital. The deceased was born in Germany in 1843, and enlisted in the Illinois Infantry in August, 1862; was discharged in July, 1865. He was a prisoner of war and was confined in Andersonville for over ten months, and contracted diseases therein which finally resulted in his death.

The Comrades of Stephenson Post No. 30, G.A.R., will assemble at Grand Army Hall this afternoon to assist in paying the last sad tribute of respect to their dead comrade, Charles Bierstadt, late of Company B, 114th Ill. Infantry. Comrades of the 114th Regiment will please act as pall-bearers. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 5-27-1890.
