Anna was born to John Brost and Elisabeth Thelen in Alflen, Rhineland, Germany on 18 Jan 1842. She was baptized at the Roman Catholic church in Alflen on 19 Jan 1842.

She married Matthias Henrichs (1840-1890) on 26 Jan 1869 in Roemisch-Katholische, Alflen, Cochem-Zell, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Matthias passed away in Germany prior to the family's immigration to the USA in 1891.
