Alister "Clay" Burgess, age 37, passed away on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, in Charenton, Louisiana.

A gathering of friends and family will take place Monday, November 14, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, Louisiana.

A gathering of friends and family will continue on November 15, 2022, from 09:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, Louisiana.

Graveside services will follow at the Chitimacha Reservation Mausoleum in Charenton, Louisiana.

Pallbearers selected will be; Joey Higgins, Bo Romero, Johnny Burgess, Bruce Burgess, Kegan Clement, Jake Anthony Hebert.

Clay was born February 2, 1985, to Cheries and Tammy Burgess in Jennings, Louisiana. He would go on to service his community working in the electrical field as an electrician for many years. When Clay became a father to Dominick and Aden it made him the happiest man around for miles. Clay was full of life and adored his family especially his mother and his kids. He loved fiercely and would do anything to protect his family and the people he loved. He was known for having a warrior's heart and spirit. He never met a stranger and would help anyone he could at anytime. Clay loved his motorcycles, dirtbikes and four wheelers. If it had wheels and it had a motor, Clay would make it do what it was supposed to do. He loved to cook and people loved his cooking, especially his famous chicken gizzards and turkey necks. His family cherished him for the person he was, he could never be replaced. He will forever be dearly loved and missed.

Clay is survived by his loving children, Dominick Burgess (Kaitlin Rouly) and Aden "Clay" Burgess; his parents, Cheries and Tammy Burgess; his grandchild, Denver "Baby Bean" Burgess; his siblings, Mitchell Burgess, Allison Burgess(Kegan Clement); his nieces and nephews, Caymen Burgess, Ashlyn Romero, Stella Clement, Baisen Clement; his godchild, McKenna Higgins; his girlfriend, Nikina Vilcan and her daughter, Gia Davis "Baby Girl"; his half-brother, Daniel Hanks; his godparents, Harold and Sheila Spell, Zola and Carla Toussiant; as well as a host of extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herbert Harold Spell Sr. and Lena Mae Spell; his paternal grandparents, Harvey Adam Burgess Sr. and Lilly Mae Burgess; his cousin, Eric Spell.
