Earl E. "Curly" Holdorf passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 87. Earl was born February 6, 1935 to the late Herman and Lillian (Groth) Holdorff.

Earl graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953 and served honorably in the United States Air Force from January of 1954 to December of 1958 at Loring AFB, Maine.

On September 25, 1965 he married Jean Qualman at Bethany Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He became a truck driver, beginning with local delivery trucks and advancing to semi-tractor/trailers for Consolidated Freightways and Roadway Express. He retired in 1998 with an excellent safety record to enjoy more of his passion: tinkering on cars and fixing anything else thrown his way. His high school friends – "the gang", as they called themselves – stayed connected over the years and shared many laughs and good times at holiday gatherings, summer picnics and card games. Above all, Earl was committed to his family and his God as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and longtime member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church.

Earl is survived by his wife: Jean Holdorf, of Manitowoc; two daughters: Lisa (Gordon) Kinney of Port Deposit, Maryland, and Jodi (Rich) Vann of Lafayette, Colorado; five granddaughters: Alison Kinney, Amalie Kinney, Elisabeth Kinney, Nicole Vann, and Larissa Vann; and one sister-in-law: Jean Holdorf of Appleton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Edwin (Joyce) Holdorff and Herman Holdorf; three sisters: Edna (Merritt) Wilcox, Erna (Merlin) Liebzeit, and Esther (Earl) Kreie; and two half-brothers: Elmer (Mabel) Holdorf and Alvin Holdorf; and one granddaughter: Mia Lily Vann.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon, also at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Jacob Hoff will officiate. Afterward Earl will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 88 of Manitowoc. Guests are then invited to a luncheon at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Angelus Senior Living, Sharon S. Richardson Palliative and Hospice Care, and Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center, for the loving and compassionate care they have shown to Earl and his family.
