Ura Koen, 2545 Duke St., died at 1:35 a.m. Sunday at Our Lady of the Lake sanitarium. He would have been 72 years old April 4.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist church in Gloster, Miss., with the Rev. J. C. Murphy, pastor of the Fifth Ave. Baptist church of Hattiesburg, Miss., and the Rev. R. B. Brignace of Gloster, Miss., officiating. Interment was in the Roselawn cemetery at Gloster.

Koen, a retired business man, formerly lived in Gloster. He moved to Baton Rouge four years ago.

He is survived by his widow, the former Minnie Halley; six daughters, Mrs. Lucille Brumfield and Mrs. J. M. Shaw of Baton Rouge; Mrs. A. L. Wilkinson, Hattiesburg; Mrs. C. Figueroa, Belle Glade, Fla.; Mrs. Paul Haines, Morgan City, and Mrs. Eloise Cain, Roseland; five sons, C. E. and W. F. of Leesville; M. C. of Malvern, Ark.; H. C. of Pine Bluff, Ark.; C. J. of Baton Rouge, and an adopted son, J. K. Bennette of New York city; one sister, Mrs. Roxie McDonald, Cardin, Okla.; 30 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Wallace Conerly, J. M. Shaw, Earl Koen, Eugene Koen, B. W. Bloom, and Christino Figueroa. Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Brumfield; F. A. Anderson, Jr., M. C. Koen, Jr., and Bud Zeigler.
