Regenia Lawson Mayfield, 88, beloved wife of Lawson Breedlove passed away, Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home.

She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the daughter of the late Jack and Faye Clayton Lawson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Tom Mayfield and a sister Jeanette Lawson.

She was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and also at First Baptist Church. She attended Tennessee Wesleyan University where she received her BS Degree and later was awarded a Doctorate Degree in Music. She retired from a career in teaching. She served as president of the YMCA, was on the board of directors of Springbrook Golf and Country Club, and at the time of her death served as a trustee at TWU. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Her favorite joy in life was music, singing, reading, the Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Wesleyan University.

She is survived by her husband, Lawson Breedlove; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Jo Mayfield, Rob and Debbie Mayfield, David Mayfield, and Brient and Kathy Mayfield; daughter and son-in-law, Missy Mayfield and husband Steve Peters; grandchildren, Taylor Mayfield, Andy (Jennifer) Mayfield, Tim (Maggie) Mayfield, Brittany Mayfield, Blair (Mike) Rissing, Katie (Gib) Frye and Lindsey Heath; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Hubble and Rev. Melissa Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 pm Wednesday, at the church prior to the service.

A special thanks to Accent Home Care Chuck and Lisa, and caregivers, Cassie, Ashley, Crystal, Chelsea, and Karen. Also a special thanks to Dr. Charles Cox who cared so much for Regenia.
