Drowning Fatality at Ipswich.
About 11 o'clock this morning a newly married woman, named Ada Aylward, wife of Mr. Patrick Aylward, residing at Tivoli, was drowned in the Bremer River (our Ipswich correspondent advised last night). In company with a girl named Agnes Cronin, aged 13 years, Mrs. Aylward went shrimping in the river, near Tivoli. She had taken her shoes off, and was carrying them in her hand, when she stepped on to a slimy rock on the edge of the river, and one of her shoes dropped into the water. In making an effort to catch the shoe deceased slipped and fell into the
river, which is about 12ft. deep at this particular spot. Agnes Cronin immediately raised an alarm, and the police were communicated with. The body was subsequently recovered.
