Delores Jean Panzer, 91, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.
Delores Jean Purpur was born February 20, 1931, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Adolph and Annie (Hausauer) Purpur. Delores attended Central High School in Grand Forks, ND. Delores met Emil Panzer, Jr. and they were united in marriage on October 3, 1951. They made their home in Grand Forks and started their family. They were blessed with 6 children. Aside from being a wonderful wife and mother, Delores also worked at Woolworths and in the catalog department at Sears.
Delores and Emil enjoyed traveling. They traveled to many places, but especially enjoyed many years wintering in sunny Mesa, AZ. Delores was a wonderful cook and baker, always making sure everyone had something to eat. She also enjoyed sewing, playing the piano or organ, and going to the casino. She loved ice skating and watching her brothers, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play hockey and skate. She adored family, always wanted to take care of everyone, and had the biggest heart. Delores was a kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was so loved and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Ken (Karen) Panzer, Gail (Mark) Kresel, Kathy (Scott) Bekkedahl and daughter-in-law, Cindy Panzer; grandchildren, Jay (Lisa) Panzer, Ben (Annie) Panzer, Jeff (Angie) Panzer, Jessica (Joel) Mickelson, and Ryder (Mikayla) Bekkedahl; great-grandchildren, Braden, Evan, Kasen, Cooper, Jaksen, Jace, Corbyn, Callie, and Carter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents; siblings and sons, Ray Panzer, Gordy Panzer, and infant son Richard Panzer.
A Joint Memorial Service: for Delores and Emil Panzer will be held in the spring of 2023.
