Barbara Donice Potter was the daughter of Virgil Hardin Potter and Grace Alice Machen. She was born November 9, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her father was transferred back to Dallas, Texas by Western Union the following year. In 1948 she graduated from Croizer Technical High School in Dallas where she had studied commerical art.
Barbara married Dewitt O. Dunaway on December 30, 1949. They had no issue. She married Gene Freeman on September 2, 1955. They were the parents of Radonna Lea and Pamela Anne. She married David Lee Kohlhund on October 13, 1961. They were the parents of Ann Omega and Karen Kathleen.
Barbara died on November 13, 1995 in Mesquite, Texas after a long illness. She was buried in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her daughters Radonna, Pamela, Ann and Karen, her mother Grace Machen Potter of Denton, Texas, and her sister VirJean Potter Bozarth of Houston, Texas.
