Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Shannon Perry and the Rev. Wayne Pyle officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation is noon to service time Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Union County to the late Harvey and Elsie (Sutherland) Stephenson. On April 3, 1948, he married the former Ivagene Bradley in Galatia.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a farmer and retired from Norge in Herrin.
He is survived by a brother, James Harvey Stephenson of Stonefort.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Gene, Foice, Leonard, George and Lewis Stephenson; and two sisters, Nora Stephenson and Goldie Tate.
