He was married in 1830 and the wife of his youth was with him until about twelve years ago, when she finished her life work.
Five children resulted from this union. Two of these died in childhood, the eldest, John, died in this city a few years ago. Two sons, Henry and Thomas, and the only daughter Mary (Mrs. Curry) survive to honor his memory.
Col. Ivey was a man of forceful character and was known in the years of his activity as one of our most energetic and enterprising citizens, occupying different local offices acceptably.
Funeral this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services at the house. Interment in Graceland Cemetery.
