JANESVILLE--- Alma M. Dobberfuhl Dobbert, age 85, of Janesville, died on Feb. 18, 2008, at Haven House Hospice. She was born in Salem, OR on May 12, 1922, the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Engel) Muller. She attended Concordia College, River Forest, IL, Rosary College, River Forest, IL, Library USDA Washington DC. Alma married Ray Dobberfuhl on April 30, 1950, in Chehalis, WA. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1991. Alma was the head librarian at Concordia University, Portland, OR, for over 35 years before retiring in 1988. She had lived in Portland, OR, Iron Mountain, MI, and had been a Janesville resident since 1997. She married Alan E. Dobbert on December 29, 2001. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Portland, OR, and a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Janesville. She was active in the LWML, Walther League, LLL, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, American Library Assoc., Oregon Library Assoc., Pacific NW Library Assoc., American Association University Women, American Archivists Assoc., and NW Association of Volunteer Coordinators. She is survived by her husband, Alan; sister, Vida Bickel of Janesville; 3 nieces; nephew; 4 step children; 7 step grandchildren; numerous great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bill; and a brother, Wilmer Muller. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at ST. PAUL'S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Jason Schockman and Rev. Cory Burma officiating. Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
