Mrs. Vanessa Daughtridge-Forsythe, 45, of 1519 Lipscomb Road, Wilson, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Wilson Medical Center, in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Contending For The Faith Ministries, 1006 Academy Street East, Wilson, NC. Pastor Lakisha Hall will deliver the message of comfort. The burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, 1603 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC.

A public walk-through is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Vanessa was preceded in death by: her father, Robert Anthony Watson; her grandmother, Margie A. Daughtridge; and two great-grandparents, Earl Watson and Ulla Watson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Maurice Forsythe; her daughter, Genesis S. Melton; her son, Genio A. Melton all of the home; her granddaughter, La'Miyah London Barnes of Elm City, NC; her mother, Minister Lavern Daughtridge Cox and her dad, Ardell Cox, who raised her as his very own, of Lucama, NC; her grandmother, Kathleen Watson of Kenly, NC; three sisters, Shannon Watson of Raleigh, NC, Laquana Dixon of Wilson, NC, and Camryn Watson, of Wilmington, NC; three brothers, Darius Watson, Corey Williams, and Anthony Speight all of Wilson, NC; five aunts, Evangelist Minnie McIver of Kenly, NC, Dorothy M. Gorham of Smithfield, NC, Sheila Wynn (Donnell)of High Point, NC, Alice Crawford, and Ann Crawford both of Goldsboro, NC; seven uncles, Pastor Donald Wells (Brenda) of Dudley, NC, Elder James Crawford of Goldsboro, NC, Jessie Daughtridge of Fremont, NC, Charles Daughtridge and Robert Daughtridge both of Lucama, NC, Haywood Watson (Vanessa) of Kenly, NC, and Elder Albert Daughtridge of Wilson, NC; one great-aunt, Mother Bessie Mae Barnes of Wilson, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
