John Wayne Gilstrap, 83, of Easley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Choice and Loma Gilstrap Ray.

Mr. Gilstrap retired from Pickens County Concrete after 40 years of dedicated service. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and gardening. He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Louise Dickard Gilstrap; his children, Lisha Gilstrap Roper of Pickens, and John Anthony "Tony" Gilstrap (Pam) of Dacusville; grandchildren, Randy Waldrop (Jenna), Judd Gilstrap (Faith), Travis Roper (Jensa) and Deidra Roper (Christopher); and great grandchildren, Anna Waldrop, Maddison Roper, McKenzie Gilstrap and Raylan Gilstrap.

Mr. Gilstrap was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Gilstrap Waldrop; a grandson, Joshua Waldrop; a son-in-law, Mike Roper; a brother, Norman Ray; and sisters, Helen Turner, and Lula Hyman.
