Choice was the the son of Jay and the late Janie Banks Gilstrap, and the husband of Loma Holden Gilstrap. He died at the very young age of 33 years.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife; his father; three children, John Wayne Gilstrap, Miss Helen Gilstrap and Miss Lula Mae Gilstrap; two brothers, J.B. Gilstrap and Lloyd Gilstrap; six sisters, Mrs. J.M. Rogers, Mrs. Hubert Smith, Mrs. Sherman Adcock, Mrs. Stanley Brooks, Mrs. Jim McCall, and Mrs. Felix (Ora) Howe.
His services were held on Monday, November 10, 1941 at Golden Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. H.A. Newton and Rev. T.T. Patterson.
Burial: West View Cemetery
