The second annual reunion of the Ware family was held miles 1½ north Palestine, Darke County, O. Aug. 2, 1900. Quite a number being present from West Alexandria, Preble County, O., near which the first reunion of the family and relatives was held last year on the John Ware farm. Although inclement weather prevented many from attending, 125 were present at the meeting. The occasion proved to be a very enjoyable one to all. The forenoon was spent in greetings and social intercourse; the afternoon in short speeches and talks by members and relatives of the family. A grand dinner and supper was served in the large and commodious Grange Hall near-by.

Relatives were present from Darke and Montgomery Counties, O., and Wabash County, Ind. A letter was read from a relative residing at Wabash, Ind., who came with his parents and located 3 miles northwest of Palestine in 1818.

Following is a brief history of the Ware family: John Ware was born in Knox County, near Knoxville, Tenn., near the bone of Andrew Jackson in 1789. Sara Coble was born in Gilbert County, North Carolina in 1792. They were married in 1810 and emigrated to Ohio in 1811. In 1831 they moved on the farm now owned by Martin Ware, 1½ miles west of West Alexandria, Preble County O. John Paul Ware, the father of John Ware, was born in Germany, crossed the Atlantic, and enlisted in the war for American Independence, 1776, and was engaged 7 years in that struggle, his granddaughter, residing near Eaton, O., having in her possession at the present time a part of the Continental money he received for such service. At the close of the Revolution he married Mary Albright, an English woman and located near Knoxville, Tenn. John Ware reared a family of 14 chi1dren 7 of whom are still living.
