Mrs. Belle Lay Blankenship, 88, of Elk Valley, died Saturday, August 13 at 5 a.m. at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Knoxville.
She was the widow of the late Boss Blankenship.
She is survived by one son, Verldon Blankenship of Elk Valley; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Stout of Knoxville; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Jane Pennington of Louisville, Ky., Mrs Della Loyd and Mrs. Gertha Frazier, both of Corbin, Ky.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 15, at Elk Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Ballard Sweeney and the Rev. Melvin Blankenship. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Ellison Funeral Home, Jellico, was in charge of arrangements.
