Oakdale-Funeral services for Sally B. Crooks, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Charles Seal and Marlin Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 3-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Sally was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family. Sally was an outgoing person who always enjoyed meeting other people. She enjoyed listening to country and Cajun music and dancing with her son, Kelly and niece, Debbie. They would often go to the Whiskey River in Henderson, LA on the bayou and to the Mikko at the casino. She never missed a Mardi Gras at Mamou. Her favorite times were when she was dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Sally's memory include her husband, Donald Crooks; three sons, Kenneth Crooks and wife, Deborah, of Glenmora, Kelly Crooks and wife, Tonya, of Jennings and James Randall Crooks and wife, Judy; seven grandchildren; as well as numerous great grandchildren.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Dave Anna Babb; daughter, Donna Gail Henry; four brothers, Joe, A.V., J.D. and Little Babb; and four sisters, Evelyn Parker, Tommie Johnson, Honore Johnson and Gayle Giles.
