According to certain documents John was born in 1869 but other documents show his birth year as 1867. Not sure which is correct but leaving his memorial as it is so as to avoid duplicate memorials.

HEART ATTACK FATAL
TO JOHN A. GRIMES, 78

John A. Grimes, 78, of Cornwall, suffered a fatal heart attack at his home on Sunday while partaking of the noonday meal. He suffered from heart troubles for some years.

Mr. Grimes was a native of Adams County, a son of the late William and Ellen (Tucky) Grimes. For eight years he was employed as a coachman by the Freeman Estate at Cornwall. Later he engaged in the lumber business and in recent years he was an employee of the Cornwall Furnaces. He was a member of the Cornwall Methodist Church and the Knights of Mystic Chain, Rexmont.

Survivors include a son, Earl Grimes, Lebanon, four daughters, Mrs. Charles Rissmiller, Malvern, Philadelphia; Mrs. William Boyer and Mrs. John Brenner, Quentin, and Mrs. Raymond Kleinfelter, Cornwall, at whose home he resided.

Twenty six grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren, also survive, in addition to two brothers, Edward Grimes, Harrisburg and Elmer Grimes, Carlisle, and a sister, Mrs. Robert Stover, Hershey.

TODAY AT CORNWALL

Services were held in the Arnold Funeral Home, 712 Chestnut Street, this afternoon for John A. Grimes, late of Cornwall, followed with interment in the Cornwall Cemetery. Rev. W. Sands Fox, pastor of the Methodist Church at Cornwall, officiated and grandsons were bearers. Last evening officers and members of the Knights of Mystic Chain, Rexmont, conducted their funeral ritual, bearers were: Earl Grimes, Russell Boyer, Carl Boyer, Carl Grimes, Olen Grimes and Richard Oppenholmer, C. LeRoy Arnold had charge.
