Buckley - Betty Jane Remeta, 69, of Buckley, died Tuesday at her residence. She was born on Jan. 26, 1932, in Bendon, the daughter of John Edward and Sara (Hall) Sikorski.
On Sept. 13, 1950, she married Thomas N. Remeta in Bendon. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed working on puzzles.
She is survived by her children; Jeff Remeta, Tom Remeta, and Carol Yokeum, all of Traverse City; sisters, Edna Rinard of Holton, Phyllis Snyder (Roger) of East Lake, Sandra (Clifford) Witkop, Nancy (Dean) Bower, Shirley Witkop, Myrtle (Bernie) Kuerth, all of Interlochen, and Barbara Kleeman of Cadillac. Also surviving are brothers; John (Darlene) Sikorski of Interlochen, Rolland Sikorski of Grand Rapids, Bill Sikorski of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Fred Sikorski of Great Falls, MT.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas in 1996, her sons, Daniel and Gregory; two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8pm at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Bulah. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce A. Sheets officiating. Burial will be at the Homestead Township Cemetery.
