Frankie Haggard was born Easter Sunday, March 27, 1904 to Andy and Ada Perkinson Haggard. When Frankie was only 5 years old his mother died. Andy and Frankie then moved to the Carthage, MO. area to be near family. He attended Lone Star grade school. Frankie and Madge Irene Simmons were married on June 5, 1929 at the home of Rev. Bill Nebelsick, west of Carthage. They had six children: Charlotte Loraine, Cathrine Louise, Cecil Oscar, Lee Roy, Nina Sue and Gary Wayne. Cathrine died April 14, 1949. Frankie was employed at Atlas Power when he died at the age of 51.
