Lois Walsh, of Drumright, aged "39 and holding" saw her Lord and Savior face to face on January 20th, 2023. Lois was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Harold and Lillian Willett. They were loving parents who gave her two wonderful brothers, Wayne (Merlin) and Dan. She enjoyed giving them the business with some friendly teasing (as they did her) and bragging about them, often on the same day. They were great friends as well as siblings.
She met her husband of 54 years, P.L., after he saw her from across the street and begged his friend to introduce them to each other. They were married for 54 loving years. P.L. was a devoted caregiver during her battle with Alzheimer's before his death. They had two children, Sherry and Larry. They created a wonderful life together.
Lois was a gentle soul with a huge heart for her family. Her loved ones could not spend more than a few minutes with her without getting a pat, a kiss, or being told how much they were loved. Her days consisted of serving her family in many ways, talking on the phone to her beloved Sherry, and journeying on the never-ending quest to find where she put her glasses. "Grandma Bee Bee", as she was called, loved her granddaughter Missy and traveled far and wide to attend soccer games and be a part of all special events. While this has never been confirmed, we suspect that she may have been the fairy that cleaned her granddaughter's room when she would come to visit. These small acts of love and devotion were hallmarks of her personality and had tremendous impact on those she loved.
Her sweet tooth was unmatched, as she would often bypass the meal to get straight to the sweet things. The sweetness from her diet must have infused into her spirit because her sweet charm lit up the room and the hearts of others. Those lucky enough to be around her were blessed by her kindness, encouragement, and fun-loving nature. She was a steady presence and she taught her family how to show love, how to be a support, and how to make others feel like they were the most important people in the world.
Some of the words that frequented her vocabulary were "rigamarole" and when engaged in playful banter she would state that it was "rude, crude, and socially unacceptable." Laughs and love abounded in her presence.
She loved Jesus with her whole heart, receiving comfort and peace from His presence. She loved to hear songs of praise and talk about God's love. Her family takes comfort in the fact that this goodbye is temporary and would like to invite all reading to seek the same peace that is found in knowing Jesus.
Lois is survived by daughter Sherry and her husband Mickey Fennell of Mustang, granddaughter Missy and husband Kyle Smith, great-grandsons Caleb and Liam Smith all of Norman, brother Wayne ( Merlin) and wife Pat Willett of Centerville, Iowa, and brother Dan and wife Carol Willett of Owasso, Oklahoma. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lilian Willett of Okc, her son Larry W. Walsh of Drumright and her husband of over 50 years, P.L. Walsh.
