Norma Jean Marr, age 90, of Council Bluffs passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Northcrest Living Center.

Norma was born on March 20, 1932 in Glenwood, Iowa to the late Carl and Mary (Deitchler) Mass. She graduated from Carson High School as valedictorian of the class of 1951. Norma married James Marr on September 6, 1952 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Council Bluffs. She worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank in Omaha, retiring in 1962 and also did in-home daycare for 10 years. Norma was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and was an avid card player.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James Marr in 1996; 4 brothers; 4 sisters and special friend, LeVern Schoening.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Janet and James Dargin of Shelby; Katherine and Patrick Wray of Council Bluffs; Mary and Roger Johnson of Council Bluffs; Anna and Tim Boehm of Council Bluffs; 2 sons, Jim Marr and Deborah Crisafi; of Henderson, Nev.; Steve and Kelly Marr of Minden, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation with family on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00PM at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Funeral Home. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:00AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Private family burial of cremated remains at a later date. Family will direct memorials.
