Fannie Dickens McLemore, daughter of the late Amanda Dickens, departed this life November 11, 1964. She was born in May 1878 in Roxboro, NC. She was married to the late Joseph McLemore of Enfield, NC. To this union were born four children: James, Julia, Earnest, and Maude. They moved to South Boston, VA when the children were quite young and have resided here since. "Tub", as she was affectionately called by most everyone, professed hope in Christ at an early age and after moving to VA, joined First Baptist Church and remained a member until her death. She was a charter member of the Mayflower Chapter No. 71 O. E. S. of Virginia P. H. A., a member of the Eagle Benefit Society and a member of the Grand United Order of Moses. She leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Maude (Gerst Harris Owens); 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grand children; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends. Her husband Joseph and their children James, Julia (Ragland) and Earnest, preceded her in death.
