Alberta Lamm Ferrell

Alberta Lamm Ferrell, 84, of Wilson died peacefully July 20, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., at the funeral home located at 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson.
Alberta was born August 15th, 1935 in Wilson County, the youngest daughter of the late Elisha Washington Lamm and Sally Coleman Lamm. Before graduating valedictorian of Rock Ridge High School, she met her future husband, Reese Homer Ferrell at the Beta Club Convention in Asheville, NC. He asked her to dance, and she said yes. A few years later, by chance they met again in downtown Wilson, Alberta working at BB&T and Daddy home on leave from the Air Force. In Mama's words, "God works in mysterious ways, His miracles to perform." Alberta was a faithful member of Hornes United Methodist Church, serving in United Methodist Women, the Joy Team and singing in the Choir. She worked at Wilson Optical Center for 30 years. She dearly loved her church family and her work family. Alberta was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and cherished the time she spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Lamm Davis.
