Levi Smith, 82, of Oneida, died Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 1997, at the Park West Hospital in Knoxville.
He was born September 13, 1914, in Scott County, and was the son of the late Alvin Smith and Margaret Lucinda Burchfield Smith.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe; two daughters: Brenda Louise Lewallen and Margie Ann Jones; four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Flora Naomi West Smith; two daughters: Carol Rose Smith of Georgia and Judy Ellen Sexton of Oneida; two sons: Danny Lee Smith and wife, Joyce, of Ohio; and Larry Levi Smith and wife, Brenda, of Oneida; two brothers: ARVIL Lee Smith and wife, Helen, of Mesa, Ariz., and Clyde Smith and wife, Verna, of Oneida; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday at the West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. GUY Ainsworth and Rev. Herman Hatfield officiating. Burial was in the Smith-Forbis Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
