"COTTONPORT – Services for Arthemise "Tim" Decell were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 1993 in Hixon Lake Charles South Chapel with Father Pete Miller officiating. A scripture service was held at 7 p.m.Thursday. Burial was in Pinehill cemetery in Iowa, La. She died at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16, 1993.
Decell was born in Cottonport, La. and lived in Iowa, La. since 1947 prior to moving to Houston TX. She taught piano in Iowa, Fenton and Kinder. She served as organist at St. Raphaels Catholic Church for many years. She moved to Houston to be with her son, Henry in 1990 and passed away after a brief illness at Ft. Bend nursing home, Rosenburg, Tx.
She was the daughter of Leonce P. Bordelon and Amanda Coco and lived in Marksville and was raised by her aunt Alice Coco, after death of her mother, taught music in Marksville and was also organist for St. Joseph Catholic Church. She married Henry P. Decell Sr. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Decell.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Henry Decell Jr. of Houston, TX., grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
