His mother died when he was a baby and he was raised by his maternal aunt (Isabelle Coco Huesmann) and her husband (Herman Huesmann). One sister in the obituary (Mrs. Bill Patty) was a foster sister and cousin, née Dorothy Huesmann.

Avoyelles Parish Educator Expires

LAKE CHARLES, LA – James H. Bordelon, Sr., of Marksville died at 5 p.m. Thursday in a Lake Charles hospital.
He was a native of Moreauville, a graduate of Moreauville High school and Louisiana State University. He taught school at Bordelonville, Moreauville and Cottonport and was principal at Cottonport.
He moved to Marksville in 1941 and engaged in several business ventures. He was serving his fourth term as a member of the Democratic State Central Committee, having been re-elected this year.
This is the third time in less than two weeks that a death has occurred in the family. His daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bridges, died on March 20, and his wife's mother, Mrs. Alfred Bordelon, on March 22.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cecile B. Bordelon of Marksville; two sons, James H. Bordelon Jr. of Alvin, Tex., and David O. Bordelon of Lake Charles; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Decell of Lake Charles, Mrs. Mary Dae Glasscock of New Orleans and Mrs. Bill Patty of Pineville; and seven grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Marksville. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
