Joseph Boone came to SC about 1694 from London, England in a merchant trade between England and the province. He owned a town house and country house (on Edisto). His Edisto settlement was plundered and burned in Yamassee War of 1715 by Appalachee Indians.
He married Anne Axtell Alexander, daughter of Landgrave Daniel Axtell and widow of John Alexander.
He died in 1734 without children.
