Born in Guthrie County, Mr. Lewis was a Des Moines resident 80 years. He was a steetcar motorman for the Des Moines Transit company before his retirement in 1942. He was a member of Union Park Christian Church and the Street Railway Employees Union, Local 441.
Surviving are two sons: Rufus V. and Clifford E., both of Des Moines, three daughters: Mrs, Ada Riddle of Bellflower,California and Mrs. Leona Westberg, with whom Mr. Lewis lived, and Mrs. Mamie Burger also of Des Moines;a sister Mrs. Frances Robinson of Long Beach, California; 16 grandchildren,49 great grandchildren,and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was a loving father and grandfather and we will all miss him.
