Politician. Banach served as a deputy to the Polish State National Council from 1945 to 1972. He also was a member of the Council of State of the Republic of Poland from 1957 to 1972, the National Council of National Remembrance, the Legislative Sejm and in parliament in the Sejm of the People's Republic of Poland during the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth terms. After serving in the Polish Army during the Polish-Soviet War, he was active in the Polish rural youth movement and worked in rural education and culture. He graduated from the Free Polish University in 1932. During World War II, he was active in the Polish resistance movement and was chief of staff at the Peasants' Battalions' main headquarters. Banach also worked as a writer, magazine editor, and publishing executive.
