Graveside services for Nikki Roquemore Calhoun will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Roselawn Park.

Nikki Roquemore Calhoun, 79, passed away on February 25 in Palestine, Texas. She was born March 4,1943 in Palestine, Texas the daughter of the late Abb Leroy Roquemore II and Eva Grace Roquemore.

She is survived by her son Cameron Taylor Calhoun and his wife Heather of Palestine. Grandchildren Hallie Grace, Jackson Taylor, George Cameron and Harry Stark Calhoun all of Palestine. Her brother Abb Leroy Roquemore III and his wife Joann of Lufkin. Romy Roqumore Polk, niece of Lufkin. Abb Leroy Roquemore IV (Rocky), nephew of Austin, Monte Knutson, uncle and Peter DeLeon of Ft. Worth and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald Ray Calhoun and brother Marc Benjamin Roquemore.

Nikki graduated from Palestine High School in 1961, and Sam Houston State University in 1972. Nikki was a lifelong educator, serving 40 years as a teacher and school principal. She retired from Palestine Independent School District in 2009, where she was the principal at Southside Elementary School. She served on the Palestine Public Library Board for many years and was an active member of Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Nikki enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, tennis and spending time with her grandchildren. In lieu of flowersplease make memorial donations to the Palestine Public Library.
