Shirley A. Kelly, loving mother and grandmother went to her heavenly home on February 14, 2023. She was born April 7, 1937 in New Holstein WI. Shirley was the daughter of the late Adolph and Alice (Moede) Busse.

She was a 1955 graduate of New Holstein High School and attended Lawrence Conservatory of Music. Shirley went on to win several singing awards including first place in the Milwaukee Journal statewide music festival after which she made television and radio appearances in Milwaukee, Chicago and New York appearing with many celebrities including Ted Mack, Arthur Godfrey, Frankie Lane, the McGuire Sisters and Mahalia Jackson.

Shirley married the love of her life Donald in 1957. They were members of First Reformed United Church of Christ, where they taught Sunday school for many years. He preceded her in death in 1999. They were married 42 years.

Shirley worked for Manitowoc County Bank later called Firstar for 24 years where she managed Special Services including their VIF (Very Important Friend) program for senior citizens. Her responsibilities included hosting movies, luncheons and travelogues. She organized member travel trips thru the United States, Alaska, England and South America among many other destinations. She also started the Coats for Kids program in Manitowoc and Two Rivers. Shirley was also known for her voice on bank radio commercials. After retiring, she went on the work for Investors Community Bank for 12 years.

Shirley is survived by two sons: Mark (Ann) Kelly of Hartland WI and Jon Kelly, Manitowoc; four grandsons David, Steven and Daniel of Hartland and Bryan of Manitowoc: One sister: Jean Paul of Madison; a sister-in-law: Betty Busse of New Holstein, and three nieces and four nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Carl Busse of New Holstein. Shirley loved her family, enjoyed traveling, singing and being around people. She included God in her everyday life. Family wishes to express special appreciation to the staff of Magnolia Meadows Assisted Living facility Manitowoc and Sharon Richardson Hospice Care Sheboygan Falls.

A funeral service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Matt Sauer officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00am. The service will be followed by a lunch and internment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in Shirley's memory.
