Activist, Politician. Ferdynand Arczyński helped to form Żegota, the "Council to Aid Jews," which operated from 1942 to 1945 as an effort by the Polish underground resistance to assist Jewish people in German-occupied Poland, As Żegota's treasurer and head of the Legalization Bureau, Arczyński helped save Jews from the Holocaust by forging identification and work cards, birth and marriage certificates, and worked to find housing, provide medical help, and supply those in hiding with monetary assistance.
