Born March 9, 1909, in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Duval and Mary Brown Davis and the wife of the late James Hillary Anderson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin sons, Charles and Carlton (Carl) and one daughter Vivian.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by nine children, Roger Anderson (Janice), Colleen Oliver (Lawrence), Corrine Fletcher, Betty Ford (Herman Sr.), Annie Johnson (Joe Sr.), Ann Josephine Bridges, James L. Anderson (Eunice), Victoria Mayo (Major), and Vincent Anderson (Sheila); 47 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Corrine D. Crews; a devoted son-in-law, Sidney Harmon; daughter-in-law, Kathleen McGee-Anderson; four sisters-in-law, Daisy Anderson, Florence Boyd, Mary Conyous and Bertha Scott Anderson; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family extends special thanks to you her caregivers and companions while she was hospitalized, Daisy, Berda, Susie and Lavonnia.
A homegoing celebration will be held at the Rivermont Baptist Church on Monday, March 7, 2005, with family visitation beginning at 2 p.m. with the service following at 3 p.m., with the Rev. James W. Cobbs Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery.
