Bodybuilder, Actor and Model. He began competing in bodybuilding competitions as a young man in the late 1940s. He was a regular at Muscle Beach and placed in the Mr. Muscle Beach competition, as well as modeling for magazines including "Muscles." Fury began acting on stage and began landing small, uncredited movie roles in the early 1950s in films including "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," "Abbott and Costello Go to Mars," and "South Pacific." He became best known for his performances in sword-and-sandal films at the tail end of the genre's popularity. Those included "Colossus and the Amazon Queen," "The Seven Revenges," and "Maciste Against the Sheik." In 1961, Fury starred as the title character in "Ursus," reprising his role in "Ursus in the Valley of the Lions" and "Ursus in the Land of Fire." Later, he made TV appearances including "Gilligan's Island," "Star Trek," and "Fantasy Island."
